Leigh Genesis U11 Storm captained by Robbie G played Robin Park United U11 down at Lowton High last sunday, Storm who are considered as a new team still developing went out looking to claim their first win of the season!
U11 Storm put in a very assured, commanding performance, displaying excellent passing, communication and positional awareness according to Manager Shaun smith who turned to a new formation of 2 - 3 - 2 - 1 for the 9 a side game. The game started well with both teams going for the win, before a good passing move resulted in a good finish by kai to give storm the lead. Robin park fought back to make it 1 - 1 before goals from Franek and Jack, then Kai for his second and Jack for his second put storm 5 - 1 at half time.
Moving into the second half. Storm started the second half like they finished the first with an excellent passing team move leading to a nice finish from Sam Swann to make it 6 - 1 before the ever dangerous Jack Smith broke the offside trap to run clear from just inside his own half, took a few nice touches before the perfect finish into the bottom corner to complete the hat trick!
Again Robin Park United continued to try and get back into the game when they won a dubious free kick which took a heavy deflection to make it 7 - 2.
Storm kept their heads up and didn't let it affect them when they scored an almost identical carbon copy of the 7th goal with the same outcome and a 4th goal for Jack Smith.
The scoring wasn't finished there but unfortunately it was robin park who got the last goal of the game to make it a final score of 8 - 3 to the ever improving Leigh Genesis Storm.
Every player put into practice everything that they have been doing in training and it was a coaches dream to see everything that they have been trying to achieve come to life in a game.
Pictured is Man of the match Jack Smith who begged 4 goals!
Well Done to Our U11 Storm and Manager Shaun Smith, This Shows Hard Work and Patience really does pay off. Long may your form continue...
